xx__D E A T H A G O S

There is something... off about this city, Francis. Something really, really off...

The dirty, unspoken truth about Deathagos city is the fact that it has a sick and twisted record. There are hundreds of thousands of papers running a mile long all entirely about the plentiful tragic deaths, the lives lost, the relentless killings. Murders, of all varieties have taken place here and even before the place settled into the great, thriving city that it is, it's been known for the reek of death. Bad luck is this place, some say. With all the murders and such a high death rate, such high numbers of people slitting their throats, jumping off roofs, beating their wives senseless, torturing their very own children. Now, now, I am sure you think darling me exaggerates, that I am simply spinning a yarn long and wide to fascinate and provoke that darker side within you, that fear that lurks whenever you here the creaking of floorboards outside your bedroom door, that I am spurring that irrational [or is it really so irrational?] instinct run as you walk along, alone in the dark, the hairs on the back of your neck rising. I'm sure you think that, but this is... indeed fact. Check the history records, find how brutal the legacy is. Go to the records, read the stories, the accounts. Read the haunting tale aloud, convince yourself that it isn't unusual the extremity of these killings or the frequency of them, even for a city as large as this. Go, and bask in the relief that there hasn't been a murder spree in twenty, thirty years. Bask, and suppress the knowing that this could be the year that they start again. You see that's the thing. You never know until it's too late.

Francis! Francis! Don't do it Francis, Francis!! Snap out of it! *B A N G*

like any good forum, our place tends to grow and expand and changes are, on those rarest of occasions, made. and it’s simply no fair if a rule in the rulebook changes and you had no idea it did, is it? here lies the change. though all of them do not have to do with rule changes, please read them. they tend to be awfully relevant.

here on wanna be beale street how could they ever fulfill 'wanna be' if they didn't try? one of the greater things about the real beale's is that there is always some sort of music going. loudly. though there are bands set up all along the street, the main 'arena' is in the park on the left side of the closed off road. going through two shitty archways, once finds a loud of merchandise for sale on rackety tables covered with tarp and benches surrounding a primitive stage. it is set up in a part. with a statue of bb king near the center. but don’t get yourself in a tissy now, there's a refreshment stand right next to it and the music is usually good. the stars of the day jump between blues, rock, and just whatever combination the crowd wants. the crowd wants. a big thing, you see. piss off the crowd and they'll flutter on way to someone else to listen to them. which ends in you not gettin' any cash, bud.

are you in need of some sick clothes? full of (holes)the latest things and totally some oddball style? a bit like hot topic in it’s array the rocker’s place carries a vast array of clothes but truth be known, deep down, it’s a musician’s hang. after all this is the place to go if your looking to be sponsored. having raked in a good stash of cash the freelance guitarists, drummers, singers and bands that have ‘formed under the bloody spike alliance’ have turned into rather successful men and women. now, admittedly they seem entirely dedicated to rock but… they have more gentler sides that are partial to the occasional blues and jazz and hip-hop and even country that float their way. bloody nail is a place of music, brothers, and that’s all that matters. the music. and walking in one notes it. with all the posters on the walls and bulletinboard chock full of concerts and music crap there is no question, with all the guitars on the wall, drums out and keyboards piled [despite clothes and the like shoved on another wall] that here is a place to buy instruments, get them repaired, and meet others with similar interests.

named fondly after the games men and women play the nightclub is as any nightclub is. give or take it’s more like a downright bar. there is a bouncer at the door to check ages, and a bartender behind the booze that can make any sort of concoction your poor, feeble heart desires. live music is the thing with this place on those occasions when someone grows the courage to brave the stage with such a rather rowdy audience… though most come to shoot a game of pool or head into the backrooms to deal hands and play a little poker. though there are no strippers, hookers, ladies of the night (this one’s iffy) like some places there is a definite abundance of young, daring gals who are looking for a fabulous night. the dim Cat and Mouse might not be the most classy joint around, and the folks within the most courteous (give or take friendly women), but it holds some sort of old timey charm that keeps people ‘round. either that or someone’s dying to know who’s gonna get the shit beat out of him tonight! which very well could be a possibility!

[ ]this here is GARBAGE
despite popular opinion concerning the name the food here is not garbage. the name is just a name to draw in the crowd, or so they say. or it could refer to how the food looks, but… appearances are definitely deceiving, as one finds out after dinning at the ever lovely falling-apart building. Its sides have been spray painted and it’s tile floors scuffled beyond belief. the walls are signed by many famous musicians, actors, politicians, whatever else, alongside every other normal, common patron of the ‘diner’. the food is good and in the plenty, with decent service the place is often bustling but you can usually find a seat. prices have remained relatively reasonable though the menu has grown a touch much. one can find quite an unusual dish here, and the fearless cooks alongside fearless consumers fear no oddity of the cuisine world. from fried toad eggs to fish cake they have tried nearly everything with anything. though they do have some more… conventional goodness for those who haven’t the stomach for exotics.

like every other good place ya gotta have your own crazed, drunk, icense smelling old windba- er… well… what i mean is. like in every beautiful and luxurious city one must have the occasional… drifter. the outcast, per say, that is, well, by many means truly an outcast. shunned by society and most sane beings, but tolerated for the fact that the darling amuses the rest. here one finds in this rickety building among rickety buildings, right across the street from the common place of a rock band… the fortune teller. with currants drawn and but a sign stating who she is and what she does’ she totally fills the stereotypical smoky room and crystal ball ordeal. not that she isn’t a diva and no one knows it. but, with her being situated not too far from a bar… she does well, to say the very least. fiona is a lovely lady, and though she bares the title of ‘fortune teller’ she is more like that crazy aunt, ya know? the one who cusses like a sailor and tells you dead front and center that you screwed up your life and that you are a nobody and that’s all ya could ever be? you know, that one, but don’t we all love her? she’s simply precious!

funded by the government the community hospital is one of the better things that have come into the district, and even the city. though the staff is often tired and worn they have truly phenomenal first-hand experience with many of the wounds that walk in through the electric sliding doors. gunshot wounds, stab wounds, though the place might not be a salacity clinic they have held their own with head trauma and surgery. the place is haunted by the standard, sterile hospital smell and is a large, three story station, with different ‘wards’ dedicated to the common, intensive care, recovery, and common offices. it is rare to see the waiting room without visitors, or doctors and nurses rushing around. there is usually at least five beings who are brought in by stretcher weekly. cafeteria serves the ever trademark ‘green jello meals’, the employees are worked to the bone, and those who walk out alive are as inappreciative as always. [ ]WALMART
the average, cheap, everything-you-need-to-survive store, not much out of the ordinary is found at walmart. a medley assortment of household supplies, food, knives and guns, weed-killer and more can be found here, and you’ll be hard put to find a better place to get anything your little heart desires. but, perhaps that has something to do with the fact that there are no other convenient stores around. the government were going to give deathagos it’s very first seven-eleven, but the town council members dropped like flies for some reason, and it still lies unresolved on a bulletin board somewhere. the appearance is clean enough, and you should thank American franchises for that, but the fluorescent lights are irritating enough to ruin that nice impression. the cashiers couldn’t be more asleep, and the meetngreeter is hyped up on four cups of espresso as if on a schedule for how many customers he can leer at and cause to leave. but, if you’re in a pinch, this place will more than suffice. the aisles are numerous, and the only items that nobody seems to find are fruits and vegetables. thank goodness for progresso soups, anyhow. Pots and pans are on aisle 5, spices and flavourings are number two, lucky number one hosts a large variety of mugs, plates and such. all the ones between are devoted to books, machines, technology and magazine stands, although it’s doubtful anyone has taken the time to analyze every inch. walls loaded with everything from basketballs, to fishing rods and weapons are attended by a few lack-lustre teens, and jobs are always popping up now and then. anything and everything can be ordered, if you’re extra nice.

[ ]1ST amendment PRESS
as any good city has there are a lot of newspapers. there is the times, the gazette, the post, it is so unfunny how there is fifty bazillion newspaper offices all fighting over the same news and to provide it to the same people. unreal, unfunny, the competitive business that it is. each press is fighting over the brightest minds and the newest news, and this small paper, though privately owned and run by a small crew, has been fighting like the underdog it is to reach up top. first amendment press has become a greater and greater seller of the news, with it’s cynical writers, dry humor, and uncut facts, it’s been bulldozing the small fry competition and eating itself into the big ring. it’s photographs are stunning and it’s articles honest, true, and entertaining. all members of the press are well rehearsed in their rights and limitations as journalists and knowledgeable in both writing and technology, as well as imbedded with craft, tact, and desire to get the job done. the headquarters isn’t anything fancy. squished between two other brick buildings it doesn’t have the luxury of ’plenty of space’ but with four floors they find a way to cope. the lovely work area, though clean, is rather cluttered and messy. files and stacks of paper are strewn about, entire chaos it seems. but there is a system to this that the employees know ever well and such a delicate system it is that they often become rather pissed if anyone from the ‘outside’ screws with the paperwork and files. But, if you want something published this is the place. they love a juicy story.

the neighborhood isn’t bad, as a matter of fact is in quite the decent little patch. this building was once a hotel before it was converted to lovely apartments, and even during the transition it has been owned by a more respectable family throughout it‘s creation and renovation. after the death of the ‘old cat lady’ and the moving of possession from her to her children, things have actually improved. the fine establishment on twelfth and holly are more clean and pristine, though rent has went up a touch. there are three or four spacious apartments on each of the twelve floors that have been, on numerous occasions, referred to as studios because of their openness and lack of divides. the building itself is unquestionably grand, with original brickwork and the majesty that an old, luxury hotel would have. there is a bellman at the revolving glass doors at all times, providing friendly assistance and conversation to men and woman of the building. there is a set of elevators accessible by all floors but also a sturdy staircase remains and option for those less faithful in the workings of technology. the place is relatively comely and homely, wood floors and new appliances and fresh paint and everything else. a lovely, spectacular place to live, it is… if you can afford it.

the old building has lasted through the ages and many changes of hands and has stayed as it is, for the most part, throughout those eons. old brick building with three floors (but do take into consider the rather high, high ceilings) the first floor slanting down, ending up a good amount ‘underground’, the neck floor is dedicated to the balconies, the walk ways stowed away around the sides of the grand theatre, and then the highest floor, the third that is, in general, smaller then the others is the catwalks far above. the theatre fulfills all that one would expect from a grand old opera house. the stage is from old wood, but has lasted since the first opening. many stars have seen this stage, and countless plays and acts have been dealt out, here, too. everyone for the most part is original, give or take a few modern additions of stage lights and the rest but… the place has the ‘phantom of the opera’ feel with all the bizarre contraptions and puzzling inventions back stage used in performances. The outside of the place is littered with gothic arches and gargoyles, beautiful is the from, grand and luxurious… the building is on the city’s ‘historical buildings’ list.

if there is one thing that you need to know before coming into this lovely, lovely place is… rats. the rats are huge and have been known to eat dogs, cats, and little children alike. the bastards from hell are courageous and daring and there is absolutely little way the place will ever be rid of them. termites, roaches, other pests, gone with the wind but one wonders if the rats, the rats are worse! the building is a rather large one, but rather unstable. barely passing health inspection it is, more or less, and understood hazard. not that it stops the ‘colorful’ variety of people that lives within it’s walls from… well, living there. the front door that tends to jam opens into a ‘entrance room’. with mailboxes dead front and the basement door to your left [in which are the driers and washers though none tread into the dark domain. all fear the kingdom of the rats] and a staircase to your right, with a few rooms on ground floor. this place, by all standards, is horrible. but it’s quite cheap and despite all the rather… ‘not so good’ people who live here [among which are drug dealers, prostitutes, criminals, ect.] it is pretty much understood all around. start no trouble, there’ll be no trouble.

good little kids go to the common school that is in the other districts. but, some prefer this ’charter’ school, and some simply believe it is better for the miscreants dubbed their children to be here then in other awful, wretched schools that simply don’t understand their kid’s ‘special needs’ (such as having a parole officer check in and such). saint mary’s isn’t a horrible place (or so the adults say…), despite the appalling area it is in. though there are bars on the windows and metal detectors at the doors, and though there are security cameras and police patrolling often then not the place, though seemingly scary, really isn’t that bad as many of those who go here testify (while there is a gun at their head). It’s simply… different. the classroom walls are an ugly pale green and there are few supplies to be spread about. the teachers vary, as they usually do in any school. Some (many) are hell incarnated, others (many) are pushovers, and others (very few) yet are actually quite caring, decent individuals. the school is a high school, and the system here is strict and possibly unfair, but entirely humane and completely under the law. Here is the ‘last resort’, the school that no one really wants to go to but after you screw up enough…

please, do not come in if you can’t afford anything. the place seems to scream such a statement, with it’s location being on one of the more expensive a stylist boulevards. the glass windows give a look inside the prestigious, two story art gallery and the chic, modern design that it is blessed with. elegance and grace, style and beauty, the paintings on the walls are simply to die for! and the art sellers and dealers will very much having you spend your soul for any number of pieces on display. the floors are hardwood, the ceilings high, and the stair case a wrought iron spiral. the place is spacious and open, with pedestals up here and there to exhibit unique sculptures, also for sale. there is s secretary behind a seamless desk near the door. the work area neat and orderly, with but a computer, calendar, and a few notes and files ever cluttering the glossy surface. upstairs is a more private, exclusive area. the private studio of the owner where he hosts, on few occasions art lessons and small scale parties between filthy rich customers and artists of unheard of renown. all in all the setting in clean and crisp, the mood calm, soothing but also sharp. professionalism leaks from the walls and regal beauty is exhibited everywhere, even in the employees who have the privilege to work under the fine, and long established, gallery mirage.

the place isn’t that bad really. a nightclub with all that is expected thrown in free of charge. must be drinking age to enter, and must have some sort of decency. despite the fact that there is a good few poles dedicated to the stage and a good few half-naked dancers on those poles, always. but they serve good drinks and the drugs that can help the experience are fabulous. one can find many a player (maybe and female) here and if one is looking for a good time and someone to spend a… shameless night with you shall not be disappointed! there is music pumped in by request keeping thick and strong at the beginning of the night before customer’s start to leave with their night’s pick and the dancing gals retire. then the slower music comes about and one is left to bask in the quiet misery that is their life. moonwalkers style is clean and modern, chic, interesting. the lighting dim, but visible enough, those who hand about here perhaps a little less then ‘honest’ but… the ones who work the bar here can make any drink your heart desires, does that count for anything? or does the fact that you will most likely enjoy yourself, or in the very least get so drunk you don't even remember if you had fun or not, count?

the clean, clean building is stylish even before you walk in. with large panels of glass and distinct air of filthy richness to it the place of business is entirely without clutter, neatness seems to be evident on the first floor. the first floor, the only floor that is exhibited to those of the public. for you see, only the higher floors reside only the true agents of the place, who work with the models and tend to the tasks of setting appointments and smoothing relations with designers and magazines. the place is nearly too small, but, having yet to prove itself to it’s mother company it has yet to be granted permission of a larger place. quintessence model agency, this place is, a portion of the greater ‘pharaoh’ which has been known to be the house of many famous and exquisite, high-fashion models. when you walk in, be prepared to see some of the most beautiful men and women in the city. after all, what better job for the gorgeous then ‘model’?

[ ]lady fortune's TABLE
for those who’s addiction is gambling is there any other place to quench such desire? the lights are nice, the atmosphere charming. warm with a bit of mystery the place has a distinct allure that attract a many regular patron. there are only five floors to the establishment, with each being dedicated to one thing or another. easy, mild games such as the slots are on the first floor as well as the cashiers and the ‘base’ of hotel management. on the second floor are more games such as poker, roulette, blackjack. third floor are the bars, the forth a haven for fine shopping boutiques, and the fifth is the high roller tables where only the most renown and wealthy individuals have privy. the place is classy but by no means abashes its less-then-rich customers. It simply keeps the divide between financial class… distinct. lady fortune's table is often a very busy, busy place, and has seen thousands of customers in its years of running. it has had many cheating attempts by crafty individuals, and has come to be known as one of the most difficult places to do so, with it soon coming common that many's views on the place is this - it isn't worth the risk of getting caught. those who disturb business find themselves in much trouble, not only with the law, but with the many contacts on the casino's list. a slightly shady place this is, but anyone with sense keeps their mouth shut.

[ ]WiLLOW BROOK mall
a very well known mall in the city, it spans a great amount and has been revered as the place to go if you have money to blow. the shops vary but one rests assured knowing that all the common places are steadfast in staking a space. one of the larger, more better off malls it has many of its own, private businesses that offer unique specialties and items, such stores are ones that aren’t chains and can only be found in willow brook… and oddly enough these small stores are simply fabulous, darlings. a high end complex, it is clean and chic in décor, smooth floors, fountains, picture books. the whole shebang with it’s escalators and double story shops. the people who lurk around the mall vary almost as much as its shops. people of all walks find themselves here, and find themselves disappearing into the large, loud, bustling crowds. the food court is never empty, and it’s where when one will find a shop the same. empty space in the mall is taking a dive, with most of it’s lots filled. one noticed, however, when entering the mall and going along the place that their sense of direction seems to vanish, however as unsettling as this is, it has been done purposely by the acclaimed architects of the structure. after all what better way to keep people in and spending their hard earned cash then to making the place confusing? to get them looking around and finding more places to shop - forgetting entirely they had, really, been trying to find a way out?

if you care to go to someplace that doesn’t have it’s own board in the districts, then here is where you would post. as you do in all of the ‘other’ places, you include somewhere in your introduction what the place is. this board is dedicated to businesses, meaning other shops and companies. this can vary to a little street corner bakery, to a large factory, to a corporate building, to whatever else you desire. this is the city after all, and there are many places with employees and work to be done and things to be created and sold. but do pay note, this board is only for businesses, nothing else. there are other boards for other places that are not shops.

Places such as a cemetery, a farmhouse, a highway, you know, things outside the city. this includes other cities you care to visit, or even countries… but remember things should be predominantly held in or around deathagos.
